Job summary

Perform a range of civil engineering tasks in a part-time capacity. You will study plans and specifications, check calculations, and assist with quantity take-offs.

You will gain exposure to AutoCAD/OpenRoads and traffic engineering software, while performing field visits as needed. The position is aimed at students enrolled in an accredited civil engineering program, ideally in the junior year, with coursework in traffic engineering welcomed.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited civil engineering program
• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum status as a college junior
• Local candidates strongly preferred due to part-time nature
• Traffic engineering experience and/or coursework strongly preferred
• Interest in pursuing a career in traffic engineering

Responsibilities

• Understanding engineering studies, drawings, and specifications
• Performing and checking engineering calculations
• Performing quantity calculations and take-offs
• Basic operation of AutoCAD and/or OpenRoads
• Preparing Traffic Engineering studies utilizing Synchro, Vistro, and Microsoft Office products
• Performing field visits
• Gaining familiarity with traffic engineering software
• Back checking drawings
