Job Responsibilities

1. Provide technical direction and execute traffic engineering projects, including traffic studies, analysis, simulation of traffic operations, traffic signal design, signal timing development, illumination design, and ITS design.
2. Apply advanced techniques, theory, precepts, and practices in traffic engineering projects of varying sizes.
3. Occasionally gather offsite field data as required.
4. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas.
• PTOE certification is a plus.
• 5-10 years of experience in traffic engineering.
• Experience with data collection, traffic control device inventory, traffic accident analysis, warrant analysis for STOP and signal control, and report preparation.
• Deep knowledge of TMUTCD and the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM).
• Experience with production/task management, quality control, documentation, and meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and/or Open Roads; AutoCAD is a plus.
• Experience with HCS and SYNCHRO software.
• Knowledge of CORSIM, VISSIM, AGI-32, and TransCAD is advantageous.
• Experience with TxDOT or local municipal projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with TxDOT, Harris County, and City of Houston design standards is a plus.
• Willingness to travel lightly to moderately for field data collection.
