What You’ll Do

As a Senior Traffic Engineer & Project Manager, you’ll take the lead on high-impact, challenging projects, with the potential for occasional travel to project sites when needed. Your responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage traffic engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Coordinate project schedules, resources, and deliverables, balancing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Communicate directly with clients, providing updates, managing expectations, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Conduct traffic impact studies for development and infrastructure projects.
  • Perform transportation safety and planning analyses to enhance roadway safety and efficiency.
  • Develop and review traffic engineering designs using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
  • Conduct advanced traffic modeling and analysis using Synchro, VISSIM, HCS, and Vistro.
  • Prepare clear, high-quality reports that translate technical data into actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and mentor junior engineers, supporting their technical and professional growth.
  • Ensure project compliance with Arizona-specific transportation standards and regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
  • 10+ years of traffic engineering experience, including project management and traffic impact studies.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (Arizona registration preferred). PTOE certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in project management, including budget oversight and client coordination.
  • Advanced proficiency in Synchro, VISSIM, HCS, and Vistro (required).
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation for traffic design.
  • Strong technical report-writing skills and ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work from a secure, interruption-free home office with high-speed internet (≥100 MB/sec download).
