Job summary

HDR is seeking a Traffic EIT to join our traffic team in a fast-paced engineering environment. You will contribute to traffic forecasting, design, and analysis across diverse transportation projects, working under supervision from the Project Engineer/Manager.

Ideal candidates will have CAD and traffic modeling experience, familiarity with HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and Aimsun, and a proactive, collaborative mindset in an employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Conduct traffic design using CAD platforms including MicroStation, AutoCAD and Guide Sign software.
• Conduct operational analysis using a variety of analysis and modeling tools specific to support job duties, including HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and Aimsun.
• Conduct safety analysis using a variety of safety software tools including Highway Safety Software.
• Ability to multitask while working on many projects at once.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a traffic team under the direction of the Project Engineer/Manager on a variety of traffic forecasting, analysis and design needs for a variety of transportation projects
• Conduct operational traffic analysis using a variety of modeling tools, ranging from highway capacity software to complex micro simulation models; analyze everything from isolated intersections and roundabouts to urban arterials and freeway segments
• Focus on traffic design, including accident analysis and mitigation strategies, signing, striping, traffic signals, lighting, and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS), including real-time traffic information, adaptive signal control, closed circuit television (CCTV), and variable message signs (VMS)
• Perform other duties as needed
