Job summary

HDR Transportation is seeking an ITS/Traffic Designer / EIT to contribute to design, implementation, and operation of intelligent transportation systems across highways, arterials, transit, and emerging mobility technologies.

Responsibilities include delivering PS&E design packages, conducting system analyses, and updating design documents under PM supervision. The role supports ACES and mobility projects with a strong emphasis on collaboration and career progression.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering or related field.
• EIT certificate; candidates hired without their EIT will be titled “ITS Designer” and will need to obtain EIT for progression.
• Local candidates preferred.
• Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office, Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Work on ITS and traffic management system projects under PM and senior engineers.
• Develop PS&E design packages for freeway, arterial, and transit ITS systems.
• Perform system engineering analyses and ITS architectures.
• Develop, update, and review design documents, technical specifications.
• Participate in ACES vehicle, electrified mobility, and emerging technology projects.
• Perform other duties as needed.
