Job summary

HDR's Transportation Business Group is seeking an ITS/Traffic Designer / EIT to design, implement, and operate intelligent transportation systems across highways, transit, and emerging mobility technologies. Responsibilities range from design and planning to deployment and maintenance on regional projects.

Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering is required; an EIT is preferred. Local candidates and proficiency with MS Office, Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, AutoCAD, and MicroStation are

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering or related field.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate; if not held, title ITS Designer pending EIT.
• Local candidates preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Work on ITS/traffic projects under PM and senior engineers across design, planning, engineering, and operations.
• Develop PS&E design packages for freeway, arterial, and transit ITS systems including communications and power.
• Perform system engineering analyses, ITS architectures, and master plans.
• Develop, update, and review design documents and specifications.
• Contribute to ACES vehicle, electrified mobility, and emerging technology projects.
