Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is the leading national provider of traffic safety products and services, with 60+ branches nationwide. The Traffic Control Technician sets up and takes down lane closures, redirects traffic, and ensures worker safety on state highways and roads.

Responsibilities also include delivering and picking up safety products from job sites and following contractor directions. Qualified candidates have 1–3 years of traffic control experience, 2,000 field hours, a valid U.S.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. Driver's License with a good driving record.
• 1–3 years of experience and 2,000 field hours in traffic control.
• Must pass a background check including motor vehicle records.
• Must pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• Wear proper PPE: safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest.
• Able to read plans and ensure traffic control plans are implemented.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Willingness to travel statewide with overnight stays; nights/weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and on work sites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to and from projects and on work sites to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards in work areas.
• Set up traffic cones and other traffic safety devices in work areas.
• Monitor the work zone throughout the shift; ensure items remain in place.
• Load and unload traffic control items at start/end of shifts.
• Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports.
• Perform shop work; maintenance and repair of equipment.
