Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems in Greenville, SC seeks a Traffic Control Technician II to set up and manage lane closures, ensuring worker safety on state highways and roadways. You will transport equipment, operate MOT and TMA vehicles, and install traffic control devices across projects.

The role requires DOT compliance, safety training, ability to lift 70 lbs, and willingness to travel statewide with possible nights/weekends. EOE.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• Background and motor vehicle Records check required.
• Drug test and DOT requirements compliance.
• Wears safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses and safety vest.
• Able to read road signs and complete paperwork; knowledge of motor carrier safety regulations.
• Able to read plans and ensure traffic control plans are implemented.
• Knowledge of state/local roadways; experience operating delivery vehicles.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Must complete ATSSA TCT intermediate training.
• Willingness to travel statewide; overnight stays and nights/weekends.
• Rotating on-call schedule.
• Mechanical background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and take down lane closures and maintain safety in work zones.
• Operate company trucks and transport materials/equipment to sites.
• Drive MOT and TMA vehicles on projects.
• Place/adjust traffic signs, cones, and arrow boards.
• Monitor and maintain the work zone during shifts.
• Load/unload traffic control items at shift start/end.
• Install/remove delineators, signs, posts, and supports.
• Perform basic shop maintenance on equipment.
• Follow safety rules and company policies.
