Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is seeking a Traffic Control Technician II in Sparks, NV. The role focuses on setting up and taking down lane closures on state highways, redirecting traffic for workers, and transporting safety products to and from job sites.

Responsibilities include operating trucks and MOT/TMA vehicles, installing traffic safety devices, and maintaining equipment. Candidates must pass background checks, drug tests, and DOT requirements, with overnight travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License.
• 1-3 years of experience and 2,000 in field hours in traffic control.
• Must be able to pass a background check, including motor vehicle records check.
• Must pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• Wear safety gear (boots w/ safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest).
• Must read plans and ensure traffic control plans are implemented and maintained.
• Knowledge of state and federal motor carrier safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and on work sites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to and from projects and on work sites to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards in work areas.
• Set up traffic cones and other traffic safety devices in work areas.
• Monitor the work zone throughout the shift to ensure items remain in their proper locations.
• Collect and load traffic control items at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports.
• Perform shop work, including general maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
• Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
