Job summary

Tarrant County seeks a Traffic Control Technician I to support Engineering Services in following standards for all traffic signs and devices. The role involves setup, routine maintenance, and inventory management across County boundaries.

The position requires basic MUTCD knowledge, pavement familiarity, and reliable communication. On-call duties and CDL-endorsement readiness within 8 months are part of the requirements.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of MUTCD codes and specifications.
• Understanding of asphalt and concrete pavement.
• Proficiency with basic computer programs and digital measuring tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup of temporary traffic control at work sites.
• Perform routine maintenance and reflectivity testing for traffic signs.
• Enter repairs and maintenance requests in Cartegraph.
• Maintain inventory of regulatory and non-regulatory signs.
• On-call after hours for emergency sign repairs.
• Operate equipment to clear obstructions for sign visibility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
