Job summary

SpiveyServices is a leading provider of traffic safety and sanitation solutions in Virginia, offering traffic control, equipment rentals, and portable sanitation services—including restroom/shower trailers, hand-wash stations, and toilet accessories. As a Traffic Control Supervisor, you will oversee safe setup, maintenance, and takedown of work zones in line with VWAPM and client specs.

Qualifications

• Experience leading small crews in field operations with professionalism and urgency.
• Strong understanding of traffic control principles and safety procedures.
• Ability to drive larger trucks (18’–24’) and coordinate work zones.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
• Available for day/night shifts, weekends, and on-call deployments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise traffic control crews in setting up, monitoring, and removing work zones.
• Ensure operations meet VWAPM and project standards.
• Drive and operate non-CDL flatbed or cone trucks as needed.
• Communicate with contractors, clients, and leadership on daily site operations.
• Document jobsite activity, crew attendance, and safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized work vehicle, equipment, and materials.
• Respond to emergencies and adjust traffic control setups in real time.
• Coach and train crew members on best practices and job expectations.
• Foster a positive, safety-focused environment on every project.
• Represent SpiveyServices with professionalism and respect in the field.

PositionOverview

Qualifications

Required:

• MusthaveValidVirginiaDriver’sLicense
• Musthaveatleasttwo(2)yearsoffieldexperienceintrafficcontrolorconstruction
• Musthavestrongunderstandingofbasictrafficcontrolprinciplesandsafetyprocedures
• Musthaveexperiencedrivinglargertrucks(18’–24’)—(CDLnotrequired)
• Mustdemonstratetheabilitytoleadsmallteamsinthefieldwithprofessionalismandurgency
• Mustbeabletoworkdayornightshiftsasassigned
• Mustbeabletopassbackgroundcheckanddrugscreen
• Mustbeabletoliftfifty(50)+lbsandperformstrenuousoutdoortasks
• Mustbecomfortableworkinginallweatherconditions
• Mustbeabletostand,walk,lift,andloadequipmentthroughoutshift
