Spivey Services in Virginia is seeking a Traffic Control Supervisor to oversee the setup, maintenance, and takedown of work zones in compliance with VWAPM and client specs. You will lead a field crew, coordinate readiness, and document site activity and safety concerns.

The role requires at least two years of field experience in traffic control or construction, a Virginia driver's license, and the ability to work day or night shifts. CDL is not required, and emergency deployments may be required.

Qualifications

• Virginia Driver’s License is required.
• Minimum two years of field experience in traffic control or construction.
• Knowledge of VWAPM and safety procedures.
• Experience driving larger trucks (18’–24’)—CDL not required.
• Ability to lead small teams, work day or night shifts, and pass background and drug tests.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather.
• Willing to travel regionally; availability for nights, weekends, and emergencies.

Position Overview

As a Traffic Control Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and effective setup, maintenance, and takedown of work zones in accordance with the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual (VWAPM) and client specifications. You will supervise a crew in the field, coordinate job readiness, maintain accurate reports, and ensure the work zone protects both workers and the traveling public.

Qualifications

Required

• Must have Valid Virginia Driver’s License
• Must have at least two (2) years of field experience in traffic control or construction
• Must have strong understanding of basic traffic control principles and safety procedures
• Must have experience driving larger trucks (18’–24’)—(CDL not required)
• Must demonstrate the ability to lead small teams in the field with professionalism and urgency
• Must be able to work day or night shifts as assigned
• Must be able to pass background check and drug screen
• Must be able to lift fifty (50)+ lbs and perform strenuous outdoor tasks
• Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
• Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and load equipment throughout shift
• Must be able to travel to and from multiple job sites within the region
• Must be available for nights, weekends, and emergency response deployments

Preferred

• American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) Certification (Flagger or Traffic Control Supervisor)
• Occupational Safety Health Association (OSHA) 10 or 30
• Previous leadership or crew chief experience
• Strong communication and reporting skills
• Ability to interpret and implement traffic control plans
