Job summary

SpiveyServices, a leading provider of traffic safety and sanitation solutions in Virginia, seeks a Traffic Control Supervisor to safely set up, maintain, and takedown work zones per VWAPM and client specs. You will supervise crews in the field, coordinate readiness, keep accurate reports, and ensure safety for workers and the traveling public.

You will lead daily site operations, communicate with contractors and clients, and uphold professional standards.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Virginia Driver’s License.
• Minimum 2 years field experience in traffic control or construction.
• Strong understanding of basic traffic control principles and safety procedures.
• Experience driving larger trucks (18’–24’) (CDL not required).
• Ability to lead small teams in the field with professionalism and urgency.
• Able to work day or night shifts as assigned.
• Must pass background check and drugs screen.
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and perform strenuous outdoor tasks.
• Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to stand, walk, lift and load equipment throughout shift.
• Must be able to travel to and from multiple job sites within the region.
• Must be available for nights, weekends, and emergency deployments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee traffic control crews in setting up, monitoring, and removing work zones.
• Ensure operations meet VWAPM and project standards.
• Drive and operate non-CDL flatbed or cone trucks (18’–24’).
• Communicate with contractors, clients, and leadership about daily site operations.
• Document jobsite activity, crew attendance, and safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle, equipment, and materials.
• Respond to emergencies and adjust traffic control setups in real time.
• Coach and train crew members on best practices and expectations.
• Foster a positive, safety-focused environment on every project.
• Represent SpiveyServices with professionalism and respect in the field.

PositionOverview

Required:
