Job summary

AWP Safety is seeking a Protector to join our team at job sites. No experience or degree required; we provide training, safety gear, and support. You will set up traffic cones, signs, and barricades, guide traffic with a stop/slow paddle, follow safety rules, and communicate with the crew and supervisor.

Expect outdoor work year-round with flexible shifts and safety training paid for. Compensation starts at $18.50–$19.25 per hour, with pay increases in the first year and paid training including

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods
• Able to lift 40-50 pounds
• Able to work in traffic and changing weather
• Flexible schedule; Show up on time, every shift
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test (this is a safety sensitive job)
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow all safety rules all the time
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect

Responsibilities

• Setting up cones, signs, and barricades and taking traffic control equipment down
• Using a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic, watching traffic and job site activity
• Following all safety rules taught in training
• Communicating with your crew and supervisor
• Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe
• Working outside all year, in all weather
• Shifts may change based on job needs: Some nights, weekends, or emergency work may be required
• You may stand or walk 8 to 12 hours per shift
