Job summary

AWP Safety is seeking a Protector to work at various job sites, setting up cones and traffic control gear while guiding traffic. No prior experience or degree is required; we provide comprehensive training and safety gear. You may work outdoors year-round, with shifts that can include nights, weekends, or emergency calls.

Pay ranges from $19.50 to $20.25 per hour, with overtime and paid training. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities to advance to lead/manager roles.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Able to stand, walk and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Flexible schedule; arrive on time for every shift.
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow safety rules.
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs and barricades and remove equipment.
• Use stop/slow paddle to guide traffic.
• Follow training safety rules.
• Communicate with crew and supervisor.
• Keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Work outside year-round in all weather.
• Shift hours may include nights, weekends, or emergency work.
• Stand or walk 8 to 12 hours per shift.
• Wear provided safety gear and bring steel-toe boots.
