Job summary

Telecon in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Traffic Control Flagger to set up and manage safe temporary traffic control zones for construction and utility projects. You will direct traffic, monitor work zones, and maintain equipment while following safety regulations.

This role emphasizes outdoor work in varying weather and requires alert decision-making and strong communication in fast-paced environments. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, a valid license, and ATSSA certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• ATSSA Traffic Control Technician or Flagger Certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
• Experience in traffic control, flagging, construction, utility, or roadway work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and remove temporary traffic control devices.
• Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic with paddles and signals.
• Perform lane closures and traffic shifts per plans and safety rules.
• Monitor zones to keep devices properly positioned and effective.
• Communicate safety concerns with crew, supervisors, and the public.
• Load/unload transport and organize equipment; operate company vehicles.
• Identify unsafe conditions and report immediately.
• Comply with all traffic control regulations and PPE requirements.
• Complete daily logs and safety documentation; assist with general labor.
• Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and emergencies.
