Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is seeking a Traffic Control Flagger to direct traffic around construction sites and work zones, set up and remove signs, cones, and barricades, and ensure the safety of workers and the public.

The position requires outdoor work in various weather conditions, the ability to stand for extended periods, and lifting items over 50 pounds. Training and travel opportunities are available as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Must pass background check incl. MVR.
• Must pass a drug test and meet DOT requirements.
• Wear safety gear (boots, hard hat, safety glasses, vest).
• Operate two-way radio.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and traffic settings.
• Deliver high level of customer service to contractors and internal teams.
• Team-oriented with reliable attendance and transportation.
• Complete ATSSA Flagger training and company-sponsored Defensive Driver training.
• Willingness to travel statewide; overnight stays; nights/weekends as needed.
• Rotating on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Set up signs, cones, and other traffic control devices to divert traffic.
• Manage traffic flow with stop/slow paddles.
• Communicate with team using two-way radios.
• Stand and walk for long periods outdoors.
• Lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
• Drive company vehicles to transport equipment to job sites.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
• Work outdoors in varying weather with exposure to traffic and fumes.
