Job summary

S&L Industrial is seeking a Traffic Control Estimator to join our in-person team in Billings, MT or Cowley, WY, with collaboration with our Corporate Office in Omaha, NE. You will prepare accurate, competitive estimates for traffic control projects and support business development and operations across the region.

The role focuses on plans review, bid development, and coordination with vendors and customers, with travel about 20% and a strong emphasis on safety and quality in roadway projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of traffic control estimating experience.
• Experience estimating traffic control, pavement marking, roadway safety, or highway construction projects preferred.
• Experience with estimating software such as Bid2Win is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20%.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Develop and submit competitive bids and proposals.
• Coordinate pricing with vendors and subcontractors.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and communicate project scope.
• Partner with Operations on scheduling, staffing, and project execution.
• Track bid results and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, vendors, and industry partners.
