Job summary

Shell is seeking a Sr. IT Operations Engineer – Trading support for its Houston team. The role leads local IT incident handling on the trading floor, mentors staff, and coordinates with IT teams to ensure smooth operations for traders and front office staff.

The candidate brings 5+ years in desktop/infrastructure support, strong Windows and MS Office skills, and experience with trading desks and security/compliance requirements. A proactive, leadership mindset is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, MIS, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years of desktop or infrastructure support experience.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office (M365), Exchange and Active Directory.
• Experience with call-logging systems such as ServiceNow is a plus.
• Awareness of market data feed services (Reuters, Bloomberg ICE, MarketView) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective IT floor support to resolve immediate operation issues; 1st level troubleshooting for Windows, PC, network, and trading software.
• Act as focal point and go-to resource at local site.
• Mentor and onboard new staff at local site.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders including Trading users, IT Service Desk, and partners.
• Coordinate with Shell IT teams to resolve operational issues and ensure security/compliance.
