Job summary

Brookstone Capital Management in Wheaton, IL is seeking a Trading Associate to join our fast‑paced operations team. You will accurately enter and execute orders across equities, ETFs, mutual funds, and fixed income, ensuring adherence to trading policies and best‑execution standards.

Collaborate with Advisors, operations, and compliance to monitor confirmations, settlements, and issue resolution while supporting model‑based rebalancing and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in trading, investment operations, or portfolio administration.
• Proficiency with Trading tools, Orion preferred; familiarity with custodian platforms (Schwab, Fidelity, Pershing).
• Understanding of SEC regulations, best‑execution requirements, and trade settlement processes.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, ability to work under time pressure, and client service.

Responsibilities

• Order Intake & Validation — Receive trade instructions from Advisors, confirm completeness and suitability, and clarify discrepancies before execution.
• Trade Entry — Enter equity, ETF, mutual fund, and fixed‑income orders into the Trade Order system with precision and timeliness.
• Execution & Best Practices — Ensure trades are executed in accordance with Brookstone’s trading policies and client objectives.
• Rebalancing Support — Assist with model‑based rebalancing, bulk trades, and drift monitoring.
• Custodian Coordination — Monitor trade confirmations, settlement status, and resolve issues with custodians such as Schwab, Fidelity, and other Custodians.
• Advisor Communication — Provide timely updates on trade status and market‑related execution considerations.
• Recordkeeping & Audit Support — Maintain accurate trade logs and documentation for compliance reviews.
• Process Optimization — Identify opportunities to improve trading workflows and reduce errors.
