Job summary

PIMCO in Newport Beach, CA invites applications for the 2027 Summer Internship – Trading Analyst, US. This 10-week program runs early June to mid-August.

Interns gain hands-on experience with AI-powered tools, participate in fundamentals training, and have opportunities for mentorship and relocation support. You will work alongside Portfolio Managers, analyze fixed income trade ideas, and develop tools to enhance market insights and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree.
• Must be able to begin full time employment at a PIMCO office between January 2028 – August 2028.
• Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2027 semester (August 2027 – December 2027).
• Have a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale at an accredited 4-year college or university.
• Are business proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Aggregate sector/market news and trade flows through communication with sell-side traders to update Trade Floor.
• Analyze and develop trade ideas in fixed income products.
• Communicate with sell-side traders/economists/strategists to understand current market dynamics.
• Support Senior Portfolio Managers in managing client accounts.
• Create tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
