About the Role
This role is fully onsite in Cambridge, MA to support close collaboration and continuous knowledge sharing across the team.
Responsibilities
- Support trading and commercial decision-making across U.S. electricity markets
- Analyze congestion, transmission constraints, and locational marginal pricing (LMP)
- Build, maintain, and improve production cost and power flow models
- Forecast market pricing and grid behavior in systems with increasing renewables, storage, and electrification
- Research market fundamentals including supply, demand, generation dispatch, and transmission expansion
- Apply quantitative, statistical, and machine learning methods to identify trading opportunities
- Develop deep expertise in markets such as ERCOT, SPP, CAISO, and NYISO
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience OR an advanced degree in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Operations Research
Required Skills
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and/or R
- Experience with production cost modeling or OPF tools such as:
- PowerWorld
- GE MAPS
- DAYZERP
- ROMOD
- Aurora
- GridView
- Strong understanding of electricity markets, grid operations, congestion, and price formation
- Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
