Storm4 is seeking a Power Markets Modeler to shape North American power market modeling and forecasting capabilities. The ideal candidate will come from a proprietary trading or hedge fund environment, with deep knowledge of ISO/RTO structures, pricing, congestion, and grid dynamics.

The role focuses on building and testing sophisticated models, utilizing Python, SQL, and large datasets, and offering significant ownership over modeling methodology and technical direction.

Competenze

• Experience in a power trading hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, or similar commercial environment.
• Strong understanding of U.S. power markets, ISO/RTO structures, congestion, and pricing.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, statistics, and quantitative modeling.
• Previous power market modeling experience is highly preferred.

A leading power market analytics firm is looking for an experienced Power Markets Modeler to help shape and advance its North American power market modeling and forecasting capabilities.

They are ideally looking for someone coming from a proprietary power trading or hedge fund environment, with strong knowledge of ISO/RTO markets, pricing, congestion, and power market fundamentals, combined with strong quantitative and technical skills.

Key Highlights

• Help shape and develop sophisticated North American power market models
• Deep focus on pricing, congestion, market fundamentals, and grid dynamics
• Build, test, and improve forecasting methodologies
• Work extensively with Python, SQL, and large power-market datasets
• Exposure to PLEXOS, PROMOD, AURORA, or ENELYTIX highly valuable
• Opportunity to have significant ownership over modeling methodology and technical direction

Qualifications

• Ideally experience within a power trading hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, or similarly commercial environment
• Strong understanding of U.S. power markets, ISO/RTO structures, congestion, and pricing

• Previous power market modeling experience strongly preferred
