Job summary

Shell is seeking a Trader Intelligence Engineer to join its team in Houston, TX. The role focuses on integrating and transforming a large IT estate to support a global energy trading business and improve trader experience through AI‑driven operations.

Responsibilities include designing and operating AIOps, anomaly detection, intelligent alerting, and self‑healing workflows while maintaining governance, risk, and security. You will work with Azure, Dynatrace, Grafana, and other platforms.

Qualifications

• Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full‑time basis for anyone other than current employer
• Bachelor’s degree
• At least 8 years of experience in production support, infrastructure operations, application support, or service operations, including at least 3 years with AIOps or AI‑enabled operations
• Experience supporting energy trading or trading floor environments preferred
• Hands‑on experience with Dynatrace, Aternity, SolarWinds, Grafana, ThousandEyes, Azure Monitor, Graylog, and/or Kafka
• Experience working within Microsoft Azure environments
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced trading floor environment

Responsibilities

• Resolve issues affecting trading‑critical services, hybrid infrastructure, and supplier‑supported platforms
• Support complex, time‑sensitive incidents with strong decision making and major incident management
• Help manage change activity, vulnerabilities, and operational risks
• Improve trader and stakeholder experience by partnering with global teams and vendors
• Design, build, and operate AIOps capabilities such as anomaly detection and self‑healing workflows
• Lead observability strategy, service mapping, and alerting frameworks across trading‑critical services
• Use Dynatrace, Aternity, SolarWinds, Grafana and related tools to improve reliability
• Develop automation using AI, Python, PowerShell, ML Ops, and Copilot Studio
• Work with Azure technologies to support automation and data‑driven operations
• Utilize telemetry and KPIs to identify risks and improve trader experience
• Prototype and adopt internal automation and AI tools including Copilot Studio and React
• Drive adoption of AIOps across Trading & Supply Core Services and embed AI‑enabled operations
• Lead Trader 360 engagement across the Americas and coordinate with other regions
