Job summary

Optiver’s Applied AI and Platform Engineering team seeks an experienced AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy production-grade AI systems that automate workflows and accelerate engineering across the firm.

You will own the full lifecycle—from identifying opportunities and translating business problems into scalable AI solutions to deploying, operating, and improving systems in production. Strong software engineering with pragmatic AI expertise is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, AI, or related technical field.
• Experience building production AI systems and software.
• Proficient in Python and modern AI frameworks.
• Ability to translate business problems into scalable AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy production-grade AI systems and products using Python.
• Evaluate models and architectures, balancing capability, latency, and cost.
• Define evaluation metrics and establish observability for AI workflows.
• Translate ambiguous problems into reliable, scalable AI solutions.
• Design scalable distributed AI systems with security and reliability.
• Prototype new models and validate them against measurable criteria.
• Collaborate with trading, research, and business teams to drive adoption.
• Deliver high-quality software with testing and code reviews.
• Operate and improve production AI systems focusing on ROI and risk.
