Job summary

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, an international law firm in Charlotte, NC, seeks an experienced paralegal to temporarily support its Intellectual Property practice group. The Trademark Paralegal will coordinate all aspects of intellectual property work related to trademarks, under supervision of IP lawyers.

This is a temporary, part-time position. Responsibilities include filings with the USPTO, docketing, client communications, and assisting attorneys with presentations and meetings.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree preferred.
• Paralegal certificate or related certification helpful.

Responsibilities

• Generates revenue by meeting billable hour and timekeeping expectations; inputs time records.
• Prepares simple and complex trademark filings with USPTO; communicates with attorneys and USPTO.
• Maintains docket for US/foreign trademark applications and deadlines; collaborates with IP Docket team.
• Prepares materials for trademark attorneys for client meetings and presentations; communicates with clients.
• Stays current on Trademark Office Rules and filing procedures; attends relevant training.
• Performs special projects as assigned.
