Job summary

The Reporting Analyst at CMA CGM Group serves as a reporting and communication support resource for the Trade organization. This role consolidates, validates, and distributes scheduled reports while attending key meetings to gather and circulate relevant information.

On demand, you will assess requests, generate outputs or escalate as needed, and develop clear PowerPoint presentations to support leadership.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of general experience in Sales/Trade/Customer Service.
  • Experience 1–3 years in a related setting (Trade/Customer Service).

Responsibilities

  • Attend and participate in Trade meetings to monitor service performance, volume trends, pricing activity, and market conditions.
  • Consolidate, validate, and distribute recurring Trade reports on schedule with accuracy.
  • Handle on-demand reporting requests, assess complexity and priority, escalate when needed to BI/tech support.
  • Prepare on-demand PowerPoint presentations using approved templates and standards for leadership.
  • Turn reporting outputs into a clear Trade performance narrative highlighting risks, opportunities and actions.
  • Create Customer Advisories aligned with communication standards.

Position Summary

The Reporting Analyst serves as a reporting and communication support resource for the Trade organization, supporting recurring reporting, on-demand analysis, performance tracking, customer advisory preparation, and presentation development.

On a recurring basis, the Reporting Analyst will consolidate, validate, and distribute scheduled reports to Trade teams, while also attending key meetings to obtain, organize, and circulate relevant information within the Trade organization.

On demand, the Reporting Analyst will receive reporting and presentation requests from Trade leadership and Trade teams, assess the complexity and priority of each request, and either generate the required output directly or escalate more complex data needs to the appropriate Database Management, Business Intelligence, or technical support team.

In addition to preparing reports, this position will support the development of clear, professional, and visually effective PowerPoint presentations for Trade leadership. The Reporting Analyst must be able to organize data into a meaningful story, identify key takeaways, and present information in a format that supports Trade decision-making, performance reviews, and strategic discussions.

Functions & Duties
  • Attend and participate in various in-house and virtual Trade meetings to monitor service performance, volume trends, pricing activity, market conditions, and other key topics impacting Trade performance.
  • Consolidate, validate, and distribute all recurring Trade reports according to the established reporting schedule. Ensure reports are accurate, timely, and clearly organized for business use.
  • Receive on-demand reporting requests from Trade leadership and Trade teams. Analyze the complexity, priority, and business purpose of each request; generate the report directly when appropriate or elevate more complex data needs to the appropriate technical team.
  • Prepare on-demand presentations for Trade leadership and Trade teams using approved templates and company standards. Develop clear PowerPoint slides, charts, and visuals that summarize data, highlight key trends, and communicate meaningful business insights.
  • Assist with turning reporting outputs into a clear Trade performance narrative by identifying key takeaways, risks, opportunities, variances, and recommended areas of focus. Ensure data is presented in a way that is easy to understand and supports Trade decision-making.
  • Organize and create Customer Advisories pertaining to Trade, ensuring content is accurate, clear, timely, and aligned with approved communication standards.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Scope of CMA CGM service profiles.
  • Familiarity with Trade organization, Trade processes, and Trade reporting needs.
  • Familiarity with CMA CGM systems, including LARA, DIVA, MIRA, and related reporting tools.
  • General transportation and shipping industry knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze and work comfortably with large amounts of data.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a proactive attitude toward identifying key takeaways and business implications.
  • Exceptional skill in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, formulas, graphing, and data validation.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills, including the ability to create clear, professional, and visually effective presentations.
  • Ability to convert data into a meaningful story that highlights trends, business impacts, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Ability to create charts, tables, visuals, and presentation pages that simplify complex information for Trade leadership and Trade team audiences.
  • Proven computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and related Microsoft Office tools.
  • Access, SQL, and Visual Studio knowledge preferred.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to work under stress and tight timelines.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work with and through others, including Trade, Database Management, Business Intelligence, and technical support teams, to achieve the required outcome.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Available to work over 40 hours a week when needed to complete essential projects.

At CMA CGM, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The expected salary range for this position is $62,000 – $69,000 per year. The actual salary offered will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and location.

In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for:
Performance-based bonuses. Comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, tuition repayment and paid time off.
