United Therapeutics (Nasdaq: UTHR) seeks to travel down the corridors of indifference to develop treatments for rare, deadly diseases. We were founded in 1996 by a family seeking a cure for their daughter’s pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Today, we have six FDA-approved therapies that treat PAH, pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD), and neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. Our pipeline aims to develop additional therapies for PAH and pulmonary fibrosis (PF).

The cure for end-stage diseases like PAH, PH-ILD, PF, and others is organ transplant, but organ availability is limited. We are working to create manufactured organs to address this shortage, believing an unlimited supply of transplantable organs will eliminate waiting lists and cure end-stage organ diseases.

Who you are

You are experienced in Trade, Biotech, and/or Specialty Pharmacy with a strong understanding of account management, contract negotiation, and data analytics. You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and are eager to support major accounts while partnering with internal teams including Market Access, GP, Sales & Marketing, and Patient Relations.

The Trade Relations Manager will foster trade relations between United Therapeutics and Specialty Pharmacy Distribution entities, supporting activities related to UTC products, troubleshooting issues, and supporting training and development activities under the guidance of the Senior Director of Trade and Channel Management.

  • Support access to UTC products through coordination of SPS and channel activities, analyzing procedures and interacting with vendors involved in product programs.
  • Lead and coach UTC Field Sales Representatives and Management on SPS, supply channels, and product programs; manage related requests and audit activities to improve processes.
  • Participate in quarterly business reviews with SPS, monitor product programs, and communicate insights.
  • Maintain and audit existing product programs, perform ad hoc analyses, and distribute findings to Trade leadership.
  • Analyze distributor data, monitor inventory trends, and approve purchase orders to ensure contractual adherence.
  • Support resolution of issues affecting product pull-through, collaborating with the UTC Managed Care team.
  • Coordinate with UTC departments and SPS on educational materials and program deployment.
  • Manage approval processes for SPS-generated educational materials and facilitate communication for program rollouts.
  • Support internal departments to align product programs with SPS obligations and contractual needs.
  • Assist with SPS monitoring of adverse event reporting, as needed.
  • Support external vendors and contribute to strategic business decisions for the Trade team.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in Account Management, Sales, Biotech
  • Ability to build strategic relationships with Specialty Pharmacy and other key customers
  • Proficiency with PC or MAC and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

  • PAH experience
  • Exposure to SPS contracting
