Job summary

Firefly Aerospace in Austin, TX is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to lead export control initiatives supporting Earth-to-Moon space systems. You will drive EAR/ITAR classifications, licensing, and due diligence while partnering with engineering, legal, security and supply chain teams to enable rapid innovation.

The role requires at least 5 years in export compliance within aerospace or defense, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of export compliance experience in aerospace/defense or related regulated industry.
• Deep knowledge of ITAR and EAR with hands-on classification and licensing.
• Experience drafting TAAs or similar export authorizations and ensuring compliance.
• Experience with foreign national compliance and deemed export determinations.

Responsibilities

• Drive development and implementation of export compliance programs (EAR/ITAR/ Sanctions/Customs).
• Conduct due diligence for mergers, acquisitions and partnerships including sanctions screening.
• Perform foreign national reviews and export license determinations.
• Provide guidance on EAR, ITAR and sanctions requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, legal, tax, HR, and IT to scale solutions.
• Lead continuous process improvements balancing compliance and business needs.
• Own ambiguous cross-functional challenges and drive to resolution.
