Job summary

A consulting firm is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager in Ohio to lead export/import compliance programs in aerospace operations. This role involves acting as the Empowered Official responsible for ITAR/EAR licensing and risk management while collaborating with executive leadership. Candidates must have over 7 years of trade compliance experience and strong knowledge of ITAR and export licensing. The position offers a salary range of $110,000 - $115,000.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of trade compliance experience.
• 5+ years hands-on ITAR & export licensing (DDTC/BIS).
• Experience with import compliance, tariff codes, and Importers of Record.

Responsibilities

• Act as Empowered Official approving licenses, TAAs, MLAs.
• Lead ITAR, EAR, Customs, and FTR compliance programs.
• Manage CTPAT program and oversee licensing operations.

Overview

Lead and manage export/import compliance programs for aerospace operations, serving as the Empowered Official responsible for ITAR/EAR licensing, regulatory compliance, and risk management. This role partners closely with executive leadership, engineering, and program teams.

Key Requirements

• 7+ years of trade compliance experience
• 5+ years hands‑on ITAR & export licensing (DDTC/BIS)
• Experience with import compliance, tariff codes, and Importers of Record
• Knowledge of FTR regulations and CUI
• Drafting TAAs, MLAs, and export licenses
• Executive‑level interaction and influence
• Engineering background (nice to have)

Core Responsibilities

• Act as Empowered Official approving licenses, TAAs, MLAs
• Lead ITAR, EAR, Customs, and FTR compliance programs
• Manage CTPAT program, brokers, and freight forwardersOversee licensing via DECCS, SNAP‑R, and ACE
• Conduct compliance investigations and corrective actions
• Provide training and guidance across the organization
• Support secure government programs and controlled data (CUI)
• Communicate risks and compliance status to leadership
