Job summary

Cintas is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Manager to lead the import/export operations for our Global Supply Chain Logistics. This role ensures compliance with import/export laws across countries where we operate, coordinating with Legal, Tax, and Accounting to maintain valuation and classification programs, and training departments on compliance.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of import/export experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience with U.S. trade regulatory agencies (US CBP, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret and apply trade laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience presenting to and interacting with Senior Leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day activities of import/export compliance program to ensure compliance and proper documentation.
  • Implement and drive adoption of policies and procedures for Trade Compliance laws and regulations (valuation, classification, country of origin, Trade Agreements, record keeping).
  • Partner with legal, tax and accounting to maintain customs valuation programs.
  • Collaborate with Freight Forwarders, Customs officers, Brokers, and customers on regulatory matters.
  • Establish and oversee internal audit processes for classifications, FTAs, and valuation claims.
  • Review HTS tariff classifications and monitor updates; ensure compliance with HTS and laws.
  • Utilize ACE reporting to facilitate audits for import/export adherence.
  • Provide ongoing training to all departments on import/export compliance.

Job Description

Cintas is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Manager to lead the import/export operations for our Global Supply Chain (GSC) Logistics organization and ensure compliance with the import and export laws of the countries where we do business.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day to day activities relating to the export and import compliance program to assure compliance and proper documentation.
  • Implement, maintain, and drive the adoption of policies and procedures that are required to comply with Trade Compliance laws and regulations. These include but are not limited to goods valuation, goods classification, country of origin, Trade Agreements and record keeping.
  • Partner with stakeholders including legal, tax and accounting to drive maintenance of customs valuation-related programs such as value reconciliation and CARM.
  • Work directly with Freight Forwarders, Customs officers, Customs Brokers, and internal and external customers on all matters pertaining to Customs and Import/Export regulations.
  • Establish and oversee internal audit processes for accurate classifications, Free Trade Agreements, and valuation claims.
  • Review and monitor product HTS tariff classifications and monitor updates and changes applicable to these schedules in accordance with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Utilize ACE reporting to facilitate audits for import and export adherence.
  • Provide continuous training to all departments subjected to import/export compliance.
Skills/Qualifications
Required
  • This position requires working onsite in Mason, Ohio, five (5) days per week.
  • 6+ years of import/export experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience
  • Experience working with U.S. trade regulatory agencies, including US customs and Border protection, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and other participating Government Agencies.
  • Ability to interpret and apply trade laws and regulations as they relate to everyday situations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience presenting to and interacting with Senior Leadership
  • Ability to foster teamwork and internal and external relationships
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/Finance, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
  • Industry certifications or Customs Brokerage License
  • Proficient with SAP and Global Trade Management Systems
