Job summary

Axiom is seeking an experienced Trade Compliance Attorney to advise on U.S. and international import/export controls for technology, software, cloud, or SaaS clients. You will guide product and engineering teams on ECCN and HTS classifications, licensing, and cross-border transfers of software and data.

With JD credentials, you will draft compliance policies and collaborate across legal, product, and supply chain teams to minimize risk in a dynamic tech environment.

Qualifications

• JD required and licensed to practice law in applicable jurisdiction.
• Experience advising technology, SaaS, cloud, or software companies on international trade compliance.
• Hands-on experience with both import and export matters, ECCN and HTS classifications.
• Strong ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business guidance.

Responsibilities

• Advise on U.S. and international import/export compliance (EAR) requirements.
• Conduct export classification determinations (ECCN) for software, technology, hardware.
• Support import and customs classification (HTS) and related requirements.
• Assess export licensing requirements, license exceptions, and end-user restrictions.
• Provide guidance on cross-border transfer of software, source code, cloud services, and technology.
• Draft and update trade compliance policies, procedures, and contractual provisions.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, compliance, and business teams in a tech/SaaS environment.
• Identify trade risks and offer practical guidance for global operations.
