Job summary

Axiom seeks an experienced Trade Compliance Professional with leadership experience to lead global import/export programs for technology-focused teams in Washington, DC. This role will drive classifications, EAR licensing, and cross-border controls, collaborating with legal, product, engineering, and supply chain peers.

You will develop and implement policies, procedures, and training, while guiding teams on complex trade compliance matters and remediation efforts across multinational operations.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in global trade compliance and export controls.
• Experience supporting technology, software, cloud, or SaaS organizations.
• Leadership or management experience with teams, programs, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage import and export compliance programs across global operations.
• Oversee export classification including ECCN determinations for software, technology, hardware, and related products.
• Manage import and customs classification including HTS classifications and related requirements.
• Provide guidance on EAR, export licensing, license exceptions, end-user/end-use restrictions, and country-specific controls.
• Lead cross-border trade compliance initiatives involving software, source code, cloud services, hardware, and technology.
• Develop, implement, and enhance trade compliance policies, procedures, controls, and training programs.
• Lead teams, projects, or cross-functional initiatives and provide direction on complex matters.
• Partner with legal, compliance, product, engineering, supply chain, procurement, and business teams to integrate requirements into operations.
• Identify compliance risks, conduct assessments, and drive remediation and process improvements.
• Monitor regulatory developments and communicate impact to leaders and stakeholders.
