Job summary

Northeast Engineering in the United States is seeking a reliable and hands-on Trade Assistant to join our Truck Body Shop team. This role offers practical work, the chance to learn new skills, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced tradespeople on heavy vehicle manufacturing and fabrication projects.

You will support welders and fabricators, help with building, repair and fit-out of truck bodies, and gain valuable hands-on experience in a busy workshop environment.

Northeast Engineering is looking for a reliable and hands‑on Trade Assistant to join our Truck Body Shop team! This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, learning new skills and working alongside experienced tradespeople on heavy vehicle manufacturing and fabrication projects.

About the Role

Working alongside our welders and fabricators, you’ll provide general workshop support to help ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You’ll assist with the building, repair and custom fit-out of heavy vehicle truck bodies while gaining valuable hands‑on experience in a busy workshop environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting welders and fabricators with day‑to‑day workshop tasks.
• Preparing materials, tools and equipment for jobs.
• Helping with the assembly, repair and fit‑out of truck bodies.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop.
• Handling materials and using workshop tools and equipment safely.
• Following workplace health and safety procedures.

About You
