Job summary

U.S. Xpress is seeking a Technician, I Tractor at the Duncan SC terminal. This on-site role performs preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors with a 1+ year mechanical background. Compensation ranges from $20.03 to $22.25 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; a Diesel Tech diploma is preferred. DOT certification and valid driver's license are required. You will work with a team to ensure uptime and safety on heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Technical Diploma from an accredited Diesel Technology Program preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of mechanical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors.
• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors per PM guidelines.
• Inspect brakes, tires, wiring, etc., and perform inspections.
• Check vehicle fluids (transmission oil, coolant, etc.).
• Change vehicle tires and grease mechanical parts.
• Maintain high productivity and meet SRT times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
