Job summary

U.S. Xpress is seeking a Technician I Fleet at the Jacksonville USX Terminal. The role involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers.

Candidates should have at least a high school diploma, and a diesel tech diploma is preferred, with 1 year of mechanical experience recommended. Shift is Monday–Thursday, 6:00am–4:30pm; remote work is not available. Must provide own tools and hold a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma in Diesel Technology preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year mechanical experience preferred.
• Experience in the transportation industry preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers.
• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers as outlined in USX PM guidelines.
• Perform basic or minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring etc.
• Check vehicle fluids (e.g. transmission, oil, windshield wiper, antifreeze, etc.).
• Change vehicle tires.
• Grease mechanical parts.
• Maintain a high productivity level and complete most jobs within or close to SRT times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
