Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Tractor Technician Trainee. The role provides foundational knowledge of tools, shop safety, and JB Hunt policies, with hands-on learning in air brake systems and FHWA inspections. Part-time position with potential overtime and weekend shifts.

The trainee will shadow experienced staff, follow safety rules, and develop skills in basic repairs, maintenance, and parts replacement while adhering to company guidelines and timelines.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age.
• Willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
• Trade school experience.

Responsibilities

• Shadow a more senior team member to learn to perform repairs to company and manufacturer's specifications complete work orders, and train to be efficient in company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines
• Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
• Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers at all times
• Train to become efficient in routine preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, basic repair as it pertains to air brake systems and FHWA Inspections
