J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Evergreen is seeking a Tractor Technician Trainee to gain foundational knowledge of tools, equipment, shop safety and company policies. You may work outdoors and across shifts, including nights and weekends with overtime, and full-time attendance is required.

The role offers hands-on training in air brake systems, FHWA inspections, and basic repairs, with mentorship and growth within the JB Hunt network.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include 18+ years old and willingness to work outdoors and across shifts.
• Preferred qualifications include a GED or High School Diploma.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal).
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to multitask and read English documents.
• Must wear PPE and work both independently and in a team.
• Good listening, basic computer skills, and strong time management.
• Self-motivation and basic organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Shadow a senior team member to learn repairs per specs and complete work orders.
• Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication.
• Train in routine preventative maintenance and air brake system tasks.
• Assist with parts replacement and warranty guidelines.
