Job summary

Central Transport in Salt Lake City is hiring automotive technicians to maintain our fleet of heavy-duty Class 8 tractors and trailers. Starting pay is $34/hour with company-paid training modules and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairing engines, transmissions, and differentials, and routine tasks like oil changes and battery checks. ASE certification is preferred but not required; 1 year of experience and a basic tool set are expected.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in vehicle maintenance or similar.
• ASE certification preferred but not required.
• Must have basic set of tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot electrical systems on Class 8 tractors.
• Repair trucks, trailers, and related equipment promptly.
• Inspect brakes, steering, wheel bearings and other critical parts.

Responsibilities Include:

• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services such as troubleshooting and repairing electrical and after-treatment systems on our Class 8 tractors.
• Repair trucks, and trailers and related equipment in a timely and efficient manner
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper working condition
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery
• Repairing and troubleshooting of major components such as engine, transmission, and differentials
