Job summary

Central Transport LLC is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot electrical and after-treatment systems on Class 8 tractors. The role requires basic tools and 1 year of experience in diesel mechanics.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in diesel mechanics.
• ASE certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance on fleet units.
• Repair trucks, trailers and related equipment promptly and efficiently.
• Inspect brakes, steering, wheel bearings and other systems for proper operation.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks and lubrication.
• Repair major components including engine, transmission and differentials.
• Repair damage to containers, trailers and chassis.
• Replace lights and tires as needed.
• Perform frame and landing gear repairs.
• Support preventive and running repairs as required.

Position Available:

Diesel Mechanic – Performing preventative maintenance as well as troubleshooting and repairing electrical and after-treatment systems on our Class 8 tractors.

Responsibilities Include:

• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services
• Repair trucks, and trailers and related equipment in a timely and efficient manner
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper working condition
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery
• Repairing and troubleshooting of major components such as engine, transmission, and differentials
• Responsible for repairing damage to containers, trailers, and chassis.
• Repairing tears on the sides of containers
• Replacing lights
• Tire repair
• Landing gear repair
• Frame repair
• Preventative maintenance / running repair / brakes / suspension

Job Requirements:

• 1 year of experience
• Basic set of tools
