Job summary

Dallas Area Rapid Transit Inc. is seeking an electrical technician to perform preventive maintenance, inspection, testing, and repair of traction power substations and related systems in the Ways, Structures & Amenities Division.

Responsibilities include wiring, relay control logic, and working with energized DC return systems; must pass a technical test and maintain certifications; the role requires readiness for 24-hour emergencies and multi-location travel.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or certificate in Electricity, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Must pass a technical test and obtain required certifications.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and pass DOT physical and random drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, testing, maintenance, installation and repair of electrical power apparatus.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and maintenance manuals.
  • Respond to equipment failures and restore service; operate during emergencies.
  • Work variable shifts and be available for 24-hour emergencies; travel to multiple locations as needed.
