Job summary

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is seeking a Signal Systems Technician to oversee Signal Systems maintenance, testing, preventive maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, upgrades and repair of train signaling systems for the Maintenance Division.

The role requires experience with fiber optics networks, microprocessors, and safety/compliance with AREMA, FRA, APTA and DOT standards. Strong communication and ability to work variable shifts and travel between locations are essential.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree required in a technical field related to rail signaling or engineering.
  • Three (3) years experience in preventive and corrective signal maintenance on electrified rail transit. Must pass a technical test.
  • Must obtain and maintain applicable state and federal certifications.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and be able to obtain CDL Class A Restricted within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees personnel maintaining DART's Signal Systems and assists in training Signal Maintainers.
  • Evaluate inspections and preventive maintenance and assign work accordingly.
  • Troubleshoot and repair fiber optics network used for the Signal System.
