Job summary

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is seeking a skilled technician for maintenance, repair, and inspection of motor vehicles within the Fleet Services Division. The role requires performing repairs on power plants, HVAC, electrical, hydraulic systems, and minor body work, along with conducting state safety inspections.

Additional duties include battery maintenance, preventative maintenance scheduling, tire changes, and service calls.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an accredited college or university or certification from an accredited technical program in Automotive/Diesel Technology, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Must obtain a valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) class A with Passenger Endorsement within 180 days of hire.
• DOT medical examination and random drug/alcohol testing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs to power plants, climate control, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and body components.
• Conduct state safety inspections of vehicles.
• Maintain, charge, and inspect batteries; perform preventative maintenance as scheduled.
