North American Rail Solutions is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Trackman I. This entry-level role supports construction, maintenance, and repair of railroad track systems.

It requires physical stamina, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work outdoors as part of a crew. You will install and maintain tracks, operate hand and hydraulic tools, conduct inspections, document work, and respond to after-hours callouts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
  • Experience in railroad, heavy construction, or maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to follow verbal and visual instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain railroad tracks, embankments, and related infrastructure.
  • Perform track construction and repair tasks such as replacing rail and ties.
  • Operate manual tools and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
  • Conduct visual inspections for wear, damage, safety concerns.
  • Record work performed and report issues to supervisors.
  • Respond to after-hours and weekend callouts for emergency repairs.
  • Assist in re-railing train cars and restoring track integrity.
  • Participate in safety briefings and risk discussions.
  • Ensure site setup and cleanup; maintain safe workspace.
  • Follow safety regulations and PPE use.
  • Collaborate with crew and maintain professional demeanor.
