Job summary

The Field Engineer - Trackers at Bechtel oversees the assembly and installation of tracker systems on the Cold Creek Solar & Storage Project near San Angelo, Texas. You provide field engineering support, including planning, material management, quantity validation, safety, and turnover coordination.

Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s degree and 5–12 years of relevant experience, strong ES&H commitment, and familiarity with BSAPs (Setroute, ArcGIS, Aconex, DSCS, Unifier).

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5–8 years of relevant experience or 9–12 years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) and commitment to a Zero Incident safety program.
• Must be physically capable to conduct field inspections and participate in project walkdowns (extensive walking, uneven surfaces, lifting up to 40 lbs).
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of EPC and EPCM construction programs, technologies, means, and methods.
• Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including Setroute, ArcGIS, Aconex, DSCS, and Unifier.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of supervisory functions relating to construction field activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with clients, contractors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepares construction drawings and sketches; interfaces in planning construction methods and procedures.
• Initiates requisitions for field purchases; prepares quantity takeoffs of field material and equipment.
• Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other databases.
• Ensures zero-accident safety philosophy and safety requirements are followed on site.
• Proactively pursues learning activities and professional development.
• Develops understanding of system scope and drawings for package development.
• Reviews inspection test plans and coordinates subcontractor submittals.
