Proviso Township High Schools District 209 in Hillside, IL is seeking an enthusiastic Boys Track and Field – Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach in planning, implementing, and evaluating all facets of the program.

Under Athletic Director supervision, the coach will foster a safe, inclusive, and development-focused environment for student-athletes, coordinate practices, competitions, and equipment, and ensure compliance with IHSA and district policies.

Qualifications

Valid Illinois State Teaching Certificate (Type 03, 09, or 10) OR ASEP/NFHS Certification.
CPR/AED certification and IHSA concussion training.
Background check and fingerprinting clearance per IHSA and district policy.
Completion of Title IX training and commitment to anti-discrimination in athletics.
Strong knowledge of IHSA rules and sport-specific strategies.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Head Coach to design drills, practice plans and conditioning sessions.
Provide individualized feedback on technique, effort and sportsmanship.
Assist with game-day logistics, equipment setup, and scorekeeping.
Maintain equipment inventory and coordinate repairs and storage.
Ensure compliance with IHSA rules and safety protocols; track athlete eligibility and required documentation.
Support budget tracking, travel logistics and program communications.
