Job summary

Johnson & Johnson's Janssen Research & Development offers a summer internship in Translational Systems Toxicology. You will help build automated update workflows for a genomics–pharmacology database and convert diverse data sources into analysis-ready datasets.

You will collaborate with scientists and engineers to accelerate preclinical safety decisions and produce reproducible pipelines. This program welcomes Master’s or PhD students in quantitative disciplines with software and cloud toolkit

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s, or PhD program in a quantitative field.
• Strong foundation in programming (Python or R) and Linux.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with workflow/orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, GitHub Actions).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Domino or GCP) and containerization (Docker).
• Experience with NLP and AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated update workflows for our genomics-pharmacology database.
• Ingest and harmonize preclinical and clinical datasets (genomics, pharmacology, toxicology, chemistry/assay results).
• Build reproducible analysis scripts and dashboards for exploratory analysis and reporting.
• Document data models, pipelines, SOPs, and work instructions for hand‑offs.
• Collaborate with safety scientists, bioinformaticians, and data engineers to refine requirements.
