Job summary

The Town of Reading is seeking a Town Treasurer/Administrative Assistant for a dual role. The position combines payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and town bookkeeping with property records work for the Assessor.

It offers 32 hours per week initially with some schedule flexibility and potential health insurance benefits. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting or bookkeeping qualifications, interpersonal skills, and the ability to learn industry software while delivering excellent

Qualifications

• Experience with payroll processing and related activities.
• Strong accounting or bookkeeping background is essential.
• Ability to work well in a team and provide excellent taxpayer service.
• Proficiency with multiple computer data platforms and industry software.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll and manage payroll activities.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable and maintain records.
• Maintain town bookkeeping and generate reports.
• Distribute resident communications and prepare grant reimbursements.
• Support Assessor with property records and data preparation for Grand List.
• Assist with office budget management and general admin tasks.
