Job summary

The Town of Genoa in Nevada seeks a proactive Town Manager to lead administrative operations, oversee budgeting, and manage town facilities and events. You will supervise a small staff, coordinate with the Genoa Town Advisory Board, and serve as the main liaison to county and state agencies.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, multi-tasking, and driving long-term goals for public services, capital projects, and festival operations such as the Genoa Candy Dance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience with supervising and directing staff; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs activities of assigned staff and contractors; coordinates, prioritizes and assigns tasks and projects; tracks and reviews staff work progress and activities.
• Serves as the Town’s primary administrative staff member and liaison with Town government, citizens, and other agencies.
• Develops and prepares staff reports, agenda items, and related correspondence for the Town Board; researches and compiles past board decisions.
• Prepares meeting agendas in accordance with Open Meeting Law and ensures minutes are recorded and transcribed.
• Assists in planning and implementing goals, policies and work standards for the Town Manager's Office; coordinates with groups and agencies for services and projects.
• Manages fiscal and budgeting activities; obtains Board approval for purchases and contracts; reports on budget status.
