Job summary

Betacom Inc. is seeking a Tower Technician IV for the Charlotte, NC area to lead installation, maintenance, and repair of telecom towers and related equipment.

You will perform climbing, rigging, testing, and protocol development while overseeing safety and quality on site. This full-time role requires travel, lifting, and strong teamwork under varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 to 4 years of industry experience.
• Excellent communication skills, reading and writing (English).
• Good computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook).
• Clean driving record and valid driver's license with reliable transportation to/from work.
• Must be able to accommodate out-of-town travel, if required.
• Working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical equipment.
• Con-Train, OSHA10, RF Awareness Training, First AID/CPR trained.
• Must have experience with Anritsu Site Master, Andrew, PPC, tower mapping and antenna equipment.

Responsibilities

• Climbs and works on communications towers for installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment.
• The basic use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Safety Management—ensures crew members are in compliance with safety requirements; verifies all tools and rigging gear are safe to use.
• Completes required daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s). Executes and manages, if required.
• Knows hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working near energized lines and equipment.
• Ability to climb tall structures (100 feet or more) with 50 lb load.
• Develops and writes a detailed Method of Procedure (MOP) for a job/project.

OVERVIEW:

Leads and assists in the construction, installation, and maintenance of communications towers and support structures and related telecommunications equipment. Leads by example to facilitate timely job completion. Tower Technicians work irregular hours, travel frequently, and work at great heights in extreme weather conditions.
